I am a slacker. No, I'm just a mom with 2 little ones who keep me very busy. A lot has been going on since the last time I updated you guys. So here goes....
Robert had his palate closed and tubes put in his ears on November 10th. Again we got up really early and went to Fairfax Hospital for surgery. Everything went well. Surgery was successful and his palate is closed. YEAH!!! This was by far the most difficult surgery on everyone. Robert didn't sleep well afterwards and he didn't eat very well. We really had to force him to eat so he didn't lose too much weight. He was apparently in a lot of pain. It took him a long time to get back to his old self.
The ENT said the tubes are working great and we go back for another hearing test in March. His hearing does seem to be improved. Not that he had a hearing problem before but he reacts to noises a little differently now.
The plastic surgeon said the palate was looking good, but there is a part of his lip that is raised and if it doesn't drop by March then he would like to go ahead and fix it. We are really hoping that it drops on it's own.
Robert has decided that he wants to walk to be able to keep up with Ronnie so he is actually trying to walk already. We are going to have our hands full with him. He's growing like a weed.
Ronnie is growing like a weed as well. His vocabulary is growing every day and he is in constant motion. I don't think there is much to share about him which seems odd. He's been sleeping in a big boy bed for a while now and we are trying to potty train him. He really likes riding Daddy's four wheeler and driving the tractor around.
I guess that's it for now. I'll try to be a better blogger and update this more frequently. =)
